The Ultimate Snowball – Capital Classic

While the recent weather in the area has limited our mobility, we are still building a giant snowball toward becoming fully competitive! Our competitive team has been hard at work finalizing the details for our next trip to California for the Capital City Classic coming up at the beginning of April. This trip should allow us to meet all of the eligibility requirements so that we can hopefully compete at nationals next year! There has been quite a bit of hurdle that has come up on the home stretch of the preparation, but we have soared right over them with our team’s excitement building.

2023 Season & Beyond – It Takes A Village

Our trip to Berkeley in 2022 really amplified the teams desire to become a competitive traveling team In the United States Power Soccer Association. (The sanctioning body for Power Soccer within the United States)

As a first year competitive team, there are a few league requirements that we must meet In order to be considered eligible to compete at the 2024 national tournament in Fort Wayne Indiana. While some of these requirements are easily met, most of them have a monetary aspect to them as well such as registering as a competitive team as opposed to a recreational team. One of the biggest requirements is competing in six sanctioned games with other registered teams.

First trip as a team to California

On the first weekend of October 2022, Power Soccer PDX was able to travel to Berkeley CA to scrimmage the Borp Shockers and Bombers. It was an exciting, invaluable experience for everyone that went and was instrumental in us making the decision to start a competitive team. Special thanks to Borp and Adaptive Sports Northwest for the opportunity.
