The start of a new season is just around the corner, with the new season comes bigger goals. Last year was a big year for us, we saw growth beyond our own beliefs along with that growth. We also saw areas that needed improvement.

The 2022-2023 power soccer season has concluded. This season showed us what teamwork is all about on the competitive side as well as the recreational side, leaving us very excited for the next season
During the first weekend of April, Power Soccer PDX’s competitive power soccer team, the Rose City Renegades, participated in the Capital Classic in Folsom, California. This trip was the team’s first-ever tournament and sanctioned games with referees.
While the recent weather in the area has limited our mobility, we are still building a giant snowball toward becoming fully competitive! Our competitive team has been hard at work finalizing the details for our next trip to California for the Capital City Classic coming up at the beginning of April. This trip should allow us to meet all of the eligibility requirements so that we can hopefully compete at nationals next year! There has been quite a bit of hurdle that has come up on the home stretch of the preparation, but we have soared right over them with our team’s excitement building.
Our trip to Berkeley in 2022 really amplified the teams desire to become a competitive traveling team In the United States Power Soccer Association. (The sanctioning body for Power Soccer within the United States)
As a first year competitive team, there are a few league requirements that we must meet In order to be considered eligible to compete at the 2024 national tournament in Fort Wayne Indiana. While some of these requirements are easily met, most of them have a monetary aspect to them as well such as registering as a competitive team as opposed to a recreational team. One of the biggest requirements is competing in six sanctioned games with other registered teams.
On the first weekend of October 2022, Power Soccer PDX was able to travel to Berkeley CA to scrimmage the Borp Shockers and Bombers. It was an exciting, invaluable experience for everyone that went and was instrumental in us making the decision to start a competitive team.
